This 6th Chinese month was supposed to be a bad month for me (I am an Ox, and my opposition Goat month starts today), but I guess the effects started early. Sorry that the daily horoscopes haven’t been available due to technical difficulties. On Monday, I couldn’t connect to the Internet, and wasted the whole day waiting (and hoping) that it would come back. Tuesday was spent all day on the phone with DSL tech support (four of which walked me through doing the same things to no avail).
The problem was finally deduced to a bad modem; so I go to a store to buy one instead of having to wait a few more days through ordering over the phone. Turns out, most stores DON’T carry DSL modems anymore, but I was lucky to get one of the last two. Then when everything was reconnected—still couldn’t go online!
This time, the computer couldn’t get to the modem because it wasn’t able to read the router (which connects different computers together so that they can all share one modem). Needless to say, I had no idea how to set up a router.
Finally on Wednesday, my cousin helped me set it up (after numerous tries—there was still problems he couldn’t figure out)… and voila! I have never been happier to be able to google something! Can the rest of the month get any worse?
